Gilligan's score.Regatta Windows Installation

Welcome to the Windows installation of Gilligan's score.Regatta java Applet.

This program runs as a java application and requires java to run. If you don't already have java, you must install a recient version of java, ver 1.4 or later.

Step 1 - Unzip "GillSRYyMmmDd.zip"

Create the directory "C:\Program Files\Java\"
Copy "GillSRYyMmmDd.zip" to "C:\Program Files\Java\"
Unzip "GillSRYyMmmDd.zip" this creates the "score\" subdirectory
Note 1: If you use WinZip or a similar unzip program, all the above steps are done inside the unzip program
Note 2: You can install in a different directory than above, but remember it, you will need it later.

Step 2 - Install the java plugin

This step will download and install the Java Plugin, or verify that you already have java installed.

Note: scoreRegatta has been tested on Java version 1.4, and WILL NOT WORK on earlier versions of Java!

Step 3 - Setup score.Regatta Parameters

Before score.Regatta will run correctly, some parameters must initialized. To do this, you will start the "Regatta.jar" program. Open your Windows Explorer or other file manager and go to the directory: "C:\Program Files\Java\score" and double click "Regatta.jar" Parameters Help

Note 1: If you installed score.Regatta in a different directory than above, go to that directory.

Note 2: In Windows XP (possibly other versions), double clicking the "Regatta.jar" may not start score.Regatta correctly. A dialog will pop up to assist resolving this problem.

After setting the parameters click the "OK - save the parameters" button. You should get the message: "Parameters successfully saved.". If not, you will have to resolve the problem before score.Regatta will run.

Note: You must click the OK button even if you do not change any of the parameters, otherwise score.Regatta won't be set up correctly.

Step 4 - Run score.Regatta!

To run score.Regatta, open your Windows Explorer or other file manager and go to the directory: "C:\Program Files\Java\score" and double click "Regatta.jar"
You can make a shortcut on your desktop of the "Regatta.jar" file to make strarting score.Regatta easier.
