Gilligan's score.Regatta Linux / Unix Installation

Welcome to the Linux / Unix installation of Gilligan's score.Regatta java Program.

This program runs as a java application and requires java to run. If you don't already have java, you must install a recient version of java, ver 1.4 or later.

 

Step 1 - Unzip "GillSRYyMmmDd.zip"

 

Step 2 - Install Java

If you do not have Java installed already, Download Java and install it according to the directions included.

Note: scoreRegatta has been tested on Java version 1.4, and WILL NOT WORK on earlier versions of Java!

 

Step 3 - Setup score.Regatta Parameters

Before score.Regatta will run correctly, some parameters must initialized. To do this, you will start the "Regatta.jar" program. This is easily done from the command line. Change directory to where you installed score.Regatta, then change directory again to score. Type: "java -jar Regatta.jar".     Parameters Help

  • Note If the directory that you installed java in is not in your path, you will have to type the full path to the java executable above.
  • After setting the parameters click the "OK - save the parameters" button. You should get the message: "Parameters successfully saved.". If not, you will have to resolve the problem before score.Regatta will run.

  • Note: You must click the OK button even if you do not change any of the parameters, otherwise score.Regatta won't be set up correctly.

    Step 4 - Run scoreRegatta!

    To run score.Regatta, change the directory to where Regatta.jar is located and type:
    "java -jar Regatta.jar"
    Alternately, you can use the "-path" parameter:
    "java -jar path/to/score/Regatta.jar -path path/to/score"
